Where to eat?
Recommendations by David and KC
Restaurant 98
One of our favourite places to eat. Good food, reasonable prices and friendly bosses.
What to order?
Pork knuckle, half boiled egg, steam fish, kampung chicken, crab, chicken, apple tofu, rice wine chicken, claypot brinjal and lots more.

Restaurant Wong Ng Kee
A very established “makan” (eating) place that’s been around for 80 plus years in KKB. It’s now run by the 3rd generation - an old uncle and wife together with their helpers. Very friendly lady boss and helper, Alice.
What to order?
Our favourites are, Kong Nam Mee, pork chop (comes with fried egg and chips), spring rolls, and pork ears. Their “Wok Hei” is first class.

Sin Ngor Kee
They are a family-run business that only does breakfast till 11 am. Very clean eatery and all the bosses are dressed very well.
What to order?
We love their hakka noodles and curry mee especially, but there are other dishes that are delicious too.
Yogi Cafe (Halal)
They serve a wide variety of Malay, Chinese and Western dishes. A good place for families with kids.
What to order?
Most of their food is good but we particularly like their pan mee and butter chicken rice.

IL Mio Café
A café steeped in history as it’s decorated with antiques from the early trade that was in KKB - mining tools, rubber tapping tools and a lot more artefacts from the past.
What to order
Their nasi lemak and chicken chop are good. The menu features a lot more local and western favourites.

Seri Melayu
Seri Melayu (Open at night only)
They serve Malay and Thai dishes. If you’re craving for Tom Yam, this is the place to get your fix. They can be crowded so call and reserve a table.

Restaurant Fazlina Maju
Another favourite place of ours. They serve good Indian Muslim food but it’s crowded especially over the weekends when lots of cyclists and locals gather for their roti canai. Their mutton curry also runs out fast.
Nagu Curry House
Very good and reasonably priced Indian food. Their thosai is very nice, and their mutton too ... but it runs out very fast. And wash it all down with a piping cup of masala tea ... mmm.

Teng Wun Bakery
You must try the famous kaya puff in KKB ... there is even a wall mural of it. Their pandan layer cake is getting popular too. Come early or call to book a spot.

There are a lot more "makan" places to explore on your own.
If you really, really, need a fast food fix there's always KFC!

We recommend that you ride with a guide.

Take off from Bukit Batu Pahat in KKB, one of
the few sites in Malaysia for paragliding enthusiasts.
It gives you a great view of the Titiwangsa Range.
